The crown fireweed is a southern European plant that grows naturally in dry, rocky, and sunny areas. It is distinguished by its silvery foliage and bright pink flowers, which provide a strong visual contrast.
It was used in manor gardens as a textural and color contrast, often planted in mixed flower beds among more delicate plants.
It was highly valued in rural nurseries for its unpretentiousness – it could grow even in poor soil and survive for a long time without care.
In urban green spaces, it has been used in naturalistic flower beds, where the impression of a wild meadow is sought.
Today it is widely used in modern flower beds in dry areas.
