An exceptional corner of nature in Lithuania: Aukštaitija National Park and Labanoras Regional Park will leave you an indelible impression. There are things to do and see all year round.

Aukštaitija National Park is a great place for people who want to explore the nature and cultural heritage of Aukštaitija, as well as for the ones who just want to rest from the city noise. Almost everyone will discover something new and memorable here. Nevertheless, it shouldn't be forgotten that there are rules, which are set out by Lithuanian  environmental protection,   protected areas,   protection of immovable cultural herritage,   wild flora,   wild fauna,   protected varieties of plants, animals and fungi species and communities,   forestry  and other laws.

Visitors of the park are allowed to:

  • Put up tents and stroke fires only in the specially marked and set up sites - campsites.
  • Use motor vehicles only on roads, where traffic is allowed by the Rules of the Road.
  • Park vehicles only in parking lots and on roadsides, if it does not disturb the flow of traffic, there are no prohibitory traffic signs, if it does not infringe upon other people's rights and does not harm the environment.
  • Fish, hunt complying with the requirements that are approved by the Minister of Environment.
  • Collect berries, mushrooms, nuts, herbal plants complying with the requirements of the usage of wildlife resources and other legal acts.
  • Sail in the water bodies of the park only using small water vehicles, complying with the environmental protection requirements approved by the Minister of Environment.

For visitors of the park we recommend stopping by the Aukštaitija National Park Visitor Centre in Palūšė village. The staff of the centre will help you to plan a route, provide information about accommodation, places to visit and give other useful recommendations.
